Ba Sing Se - the impenetrable city. With a prestigious name like that, Jang Mi was expecting upfront security measures and identity checks, and all. Even living in the Earth Kingdom her entire life, she never actually made a fuss of going to the Capital. Maybe it was because rouge circus acts didn’t usually find their place here. She stayed before the gates for a while, taking the whole first time experience in with one deep breath.

She possibly could have stayed there forever, if her mount wasn’t such a restless animal. Even while carrying hordes of goods, packed tightly in both saddlebags across it’s back, he had far too much energy. In fact, Jang Mi didn’t even know why she packed so much soup in one bag in the first place. Well, some crazy soup fanatic would be bound to buy it…

Jang Mi guided her horse through the busy cobbled streets, until she came to the market place. There weren’t many spots left, so she was stuck with a placement right at the rear exit. It was a bad place for business, but certainly a good place for selling food. Dismounting, she lay a cloth out on the floor, and arranged the many containers of soup in a five-star pattern. Once satisfied, she gave her horse some water, and lined up the rest of her sale behind her - ranging from gold bars, small daggers and trinkets.

The sun was high up in the sky, and Tenzin was slowly walking through the never-ending market stalls of the great city of Ba Sing Se. He could smell the millions of aromas flying through the air with the wind.

After browsing for a short period of time, Tenzin's mouth was getting dry because of the sun burning from above. He scanned the area and saw a promising stall. He walked towards it. He could almost taste the flavors. Standing in front of the stall, he looked at the many different soups. They were standing in a star pattern. Decorative.

He raised his head, now looking at the vendor. It was a girl, not even close to looking like a vendor. Next to her was a strange beast. He looked back at the girl. "Hello,' he said smiling, "I'd like to buy some soup." He again looked back at the soups. There must havee been over thirty different kinds. He recognized one of his favorites, Yellow Sunpeach, but he would rather try a flavor he has never tasted before. "That's one big collection.. which one would you recommend?"

Jang Mi looked up at her first customer. Fairly tall, and spiky black hair. She could just about manage an iron beastplate beneath his clothes - was he a warrior, or was that just for decor?

Vending was an art. And for this, Jang Mi needed to put on her welcoming face - a bright fake smile, and a friendly tone. Not that she wasn't happy, just that expressing emotions didn't come easily to her. She stood up and away from the silver caskets she was arranging, and gave the customer a warm smile. Only problem being, Jang Mi had minimal knowledge on soup. She pretty much just grabbed every kind she could... Well, time to pretend to know what she was doing.

"Afternoon! If you're looking for a place to refresh yourself, you've made a great choice!" She picked out one of them at random. It had a pale-yellow creamy texture, and looked appetizing enough. "This... is... Mushroom and Venison... Actually, what on earth is this? It's from a distant exotic country, as expected, not one of my sale here is "Ordinary"." Jang Mi replied, holding the soup out for him.

"Since you're my very first, I'll give you a discount. 1 silver peice, and Try-Before-You-Buy~."

Tenzin smiles and is quite surprised as he hears he's the first customer, because the soups she was offering really looked and smelled delicious. The girl held a soup in his face. She implied it was Mushroom and Venison soup, but Tenzai smelled that it was fully made of mushrooms, but he could be wrong.

"Are you sure this had venison in it?" Tenzai asked, "I'll take it, nonetheless." Tenzai reached into his left pocket, and pulled out a silver piece. He handed it to the girl, who then gave him the steaming soup.

He hovered his nose above the soup. "This is going to taste amazing!" he said happily, whilst laughing at the girl. He took his first sip. Average. "It has a great smell, but tastes mediocre," Tenzai said.

Jang Mi felt a bead of sweat forming at the back of her nape. A soup specialist? What bad timing…

“Well. It seems that I may have got the names mixed up, there were so many types and I was in such a hurry…” She explained, whilst carefully slipping the silver coin out of view. She wasn’t such a culinary herself - every single one tasted exactly the same to her. But if this guy knew a little about food, it might make some of her own cooking a little bearable.

“Say, you know, I thought the exact same thing about that particular specimen. In your opinion, what would you say was missing?”

After a quick examination Tenzin noticed the girl was looking a bit tense. What was causing this? He couldn't think of anything, and shrugged it off.

He listened as the girl asked him a question. "What was missing? Flavor. It had a strong smell, but no flavor. Add more spices to it, then it will surely be better," Tenzin answered. Tenzin never planned anything or whatsoever, therefore he no plans at all for today. He figured he might as well kill some time at this 'stall', if you could call it that. Rug would be a more appropriate name.
"Where are my manners? The name's Tenzin," he said while greeting her with the traditional Earth Kingdom greet, two fists against together with a quick nod with the head and closed eyes. It was not often he used this greet. Normally a 'hello' or a 'hi' would do for all he cared.

"Tenzin, that's far too formal! I'm only a stage perfor-"

She caught herself, before retaking in her surroundings. "I mean... I guess being a merchant in the capital... given the situation, I suppose that's alright. Even then, I've never seen a man give a girl so much positive attention. Since you've gone this far, then -"

She straightened up, and did an over the top, impressive bow. It was akin to the bows that participants made at the end of a performace - except, since Jang Mi had shorts on and not a skirt, it was the male version. She ended up with her feet shoulder width apart, a slight bow, and left arm draped across her abdomen, and a stage smile across her face.

"Jang Mi. Used to go by the name "Silver", and the reason's kinda obvious. Unfortunatley, none of the other special titles like "Monkey King" or "Midnight Breakewaters." But hey, once I get into the advancements of bending, I'll earn myself my own title. Personal dream, and all."

"Say, that armour you got on..."
Jang Mi said, hinting to the slightly covered breast plate. "If you're as good in your fighting prowess as your cooking, I must say that I'd be glad to meet up with you sometime."
