How dark the night is Shiva thought to herself. Shiva enjoyed the dark of the night, it reminded her of peace for some reason. But the dark was running out and soon the sun would rise. But for now she walked down the dirt path that lead through the earth kingdom in the dark. She felt the ground her from the moisture and the dew around her, she felt around for graves in the area but for naught.

She continued down the path alone. She came across a deceased bird in her way. Where most would be grossed out she smiled her wicked smile and knelt down in front of it and grabbed its stomach. she could feel its blood all over her hand, a fresh corpse. She channeled her energy through it, bending its blood, re-animating it. She lifted it up in her hand as she stood and threw it into the air. And by the time it hit the height of the throw, it took off flying.

Shiva continued along, now slightly amused by the re-animated bird flying around, and the live crows that seemed to subtly follow her around where she went. The sun began to rise as she walked and as it reached her, she felt slightly weaker. she could see the city come slowly into view and watched as the buildings grew large and larger.

At last she reached the city. She slipped past the gate and the guards with relative ease. Who would incriminate a young girl like Shiva ? She walked through the busy city and found the center of the city. She grew tired from the sun and found a bench in the shade looking into the middle of the city, as she sat she observed the people and the daily goings of Omashu.

Jang Mi had camped for the night, just a little way outside the city, having made a good headway from Makupu village. She had made a point of never riding at night, since the roads where more treacherous, and her horse was such a scardy cat.

She awoke to the sound of her horse neighing, and the brilliant dawn of sunrise. And the brilliant pain of sitting far too stiffly, propped up against a tree trunk. She really needed her bed right now. She managed to crawl on the horse's back in an untidy position, grab a hold of the dangling reins, and for a moment almost went into a full blown panic, being unable to locate the parcel she had taken so long to get in the first place.

Ah. There. Tied to your neck, Dummy.

She groaned as she tugged at the pacakge strings. Mornings where never the best times. They were also the times when her memory was the worst. But still, sometimes the sunrise was just worth the trouble.
"Right. Home again. I'll promise to get you some food, I know how you feel, I'm starving."

With a quick paced canter, Jang Mi made her way to Omashu City, the final destination. She knew the gatekeepers well, giving them a wave and a smile as she rode past the checkpoint. Even so early in the morning, the city was busy. Which left Jang Mi to a lot of half-hearted groggy grettings along the streets when meeting up with some of her old colleagues, albeit fast ones, since she was moving so quickly.

Once, she had to back up. Something caught her eye. The horse's hooves made short, pronounced thuds against the ground as he walked backwards - his own little way of complaining. Black and Blue hair with ivory pale skin - definately not an Earth Kingdom custom. At first Jang Mi thought it might've been a China Doll, or a work of art, but it was infact a living human being, probably a little older than herself. She sat on a bench, alone, just... what was she doing?

"Hey. Never seen you here before, when did you arrive?" Jang Mi studied her, trying to put her appearance to a location. "And... where do you come from?"

The crows where back.. Shiva sighed to herself as she watched them appear. Starting with one, then more and more. It was almost like thy where spies, they where hidden, looking as if they where supposed to be there, pitched in trees and on top of buildings but they shouldn't have been.

As she watched the daily on goings of Omashu she observed the merchants and the civilians, the military personal that where running a muck of the town. such a silly place she thought to herself, she wondered how long it would be around for.

Shiva sighed to herself but then smiled a bit as she noticed her creation flew into view, the necrotic bird returned and sat on the ground a few feet away and she giggled to herself. Just as this happened she noticed a girl had approached her. She listened to the girl and thought for a moment. " Well it is a big city" she said lightly, with a sweet voice. " but i just arrived, I come from....well a place very far away from here. " she said with a slight smile. " Since you know everyone in the city, i take it you are from here ?"

Almost instantly, her horse knew something was wrong with the bird that landed in front of him. He reared up, throwing Jang Mi off his back, then went galloping into the heart of the city without a rider leaving a trail of dust clouds and bemused commuters. Jang Mi, obviously used to this, landed neatly on her feet in a crouching position. Still, it was fairly uncalled for, and dust now curled the way up to her shins and elbows.

Jang Mi stood up in the street, now mountless, wondering what on earth had possessed the creature. It was then that she noticed the mass of crows migrating in their direction - maybe the horse was afraid of the colour black.
"Mhmm." She said, cheerfully. New visitors had to be treated like first customers - always put your best face forwards. With the same gender, a little colloquialism couldn't hurt. "Moved and started working here two years ago. Welcome to Omashu, home to the best delivery system in the world. Well, that's what we're famous for. Spent my entire life in the Earth country, haven't had a chance to leave yet. It's so big, I've never had the need to. You're lucky, being able to travel and all."

The number of crows seemed to increase by the second. This lady must have dropped alot of bread crumbs on the way in. "Say, back home, did anyone ever give you a nickname, like Crow or Raven?"

Shiva watched as the horse freaked out and dismounted its rider. She chuckled lightly and laughed under her breath. She had seen that often, animals always seemed scared of the un-dead and could easily sense their presence and usually fled.

She listened to all that the female had to say and sized her up as she said it, she found her interesting but she didn't know why, simply...she interested her. she shruged at her last statement " No, i don't know why they amassed here " she said, it was only a slight lie. " does that happen often ?" she asked referring to the birds.

Just as that happened the undead crow that had landed right infront of them had turned around showing its other side. When it had died it got hit by a speeding cart and it showed, it was bleeding and its stomach was ripped open and its skull was showing. it looked at Jang mi and let out a peircing screech as if it had just died and flew off, flying through the air.

Jang Mi

"Hmm..." She said, staring up into the sky and the birds. "Unless someone leaves their garbage completely out in the open, or someone starts purposefully feeding them, no, that is not normal, and it doesn't happen all too often. But don't worry, this city is alot more beautiful in the afternoons and even-"

When Jang Mi had turned back to face the girl, her eyes where averted to the little moving piece of roadkill on the ground. It certainly had to be dead, what with the missing flesh and guts and all, and direct eye contact didn't particuarly help either. As it flew away, two possibilities went through Jang Mi's mind; either she'd started hallucinating mid-day, or she just let a serious amount of cash just fly away.

The other girl didn't seem to be phased, however. Maybe she didn't see. Maybe it was a hallucination after all. But still, Jang Mi wondered what horrors awaited on the other side of the other birds, perched on top of signposts and shop roofs.

"N... no... that doesn't happen very often at all..."
Freaking out in the middle of the street would have been a bad move. In fact, moving away from the strange birds appeared to be a good idea right now.
"You know, lets move" Jang Mi said, constantly aware of the tens of tiny eyes behind her back. "There's alot to do in this city - the market's not as good as the one down in the Pier, but it's still pretty good. Or, you can try riding the mail system if you don't get caught. Shops, resturants; really, take your pick!"

As she turned to leave, Jang Mi half tripped on a little brown object on the ground. She took a closer inspection, mentally facepalmed for being so stupid, then took the parcel back by the strings. Of course, it must have fallen off the horse in his mad frenzy. Why, if she had forgotten that here...

Mood: Bloody confused. Maybe a little frightened.
Condition: A-OK.
Rank: Intermediate
